One of the mobile phone companies hoping for a great 2012 is LG. This manufacturer has established a great reputation for producing stylish and feature packed smartphones. Their newest handset is the LG Optimus 4X HD, a premium device that competes directly with some of the leading handsets available such as the HTC One X. We have a closer look at this new model to see what features that it has to offer.
In terms of design the LG Optimus 4X HD is an attractive handset that offers a simple, angular design that blends well with the large 4.7 inch screen that is incorporated. The screen dominates the front of the device and if you turn the model over a textured plastic back panel covers the rear of the phone. If we look at the screen at little closer this is where things start to get very interesting. The display is the same size as models such as the Sony Xperia S and it is one of the best examples of mobile screen technology that we have encountered. A TrueHD IPS LCD panel is used which provides bright colours and great viewing angles. A resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels can be displayed which results in a fantastic pixel density of 312 pixels per inch.
The LG Optimus 4X HD runs with the latest processing technology in the shape of a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor which is clocked at 1.5Ghz. This makes the device one of the most powerful phones currently on the market and this is evident from the speed at which the 4X handles all tasks that are asked of it. 1GB of RAM memory ensures that the phone is well prepared for any future software updates that may be required. The model comes with the very latest version of the Android operating system installed which delivers interface improvements and a more visually appealing layout. Anybody who is looking to use this phone for recording video footage will not be disappointed as the phone can offer Full HD 1080P capture which looks superb on the excellent display or when transferred to a larger screen. Still photography is equally as impressive with images recorded at 8 mega pixel resolution.
